Pic Adam, also known as Piton Bois de Nèfles, is an iconic peak near Saint-Denis in the north of Réunion, rising to 1,124 metres. Its distinctive shape makes it recognisable from several kilometres away. From the summit you can take in a panorama of the whole of northern Réunion, and the mountain is a popular free area for hiking and picnicking among locals.

Located in the Jardin de l'État (State Garden) in Saint-Denis, the Natural History Museum (Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle) presents specimens of local flora and fauna from Réunion and the Indian Ocean region, along with the area's natural history. It is a window onto the island's biodiversity.

Located at Ermitage, in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains on the southwest of Réunion, Le Jardin d'Eden is an ethnobotanical garden showcasing a wide variety of tropical and native local plants, with a plant maze and relaxing walking paths inside.

Located in Saint-Paul in western Réunion, the Musée de Villèle is a historic estate illustrating the life of 17th-19th century plantation owners. The grounds preserve the Pointe Chapel (Chapelle Pointue), built in 1841, and the remains of the former slave hospital.

La Roche Écrite rises to around 2,276 metres and stands above the island from the Saint-Denis heights. Its summit offers sweeping views of the Mafate and Salazie cirques and the Reunion coastline, and it is a hiking point to observe forest birds including the endangered endemic Tuit-Tuit. It can be reached along the great-loop GR R2 from Mamode Camp or Dos d'Ane.

The Mosquée Noor-e-Islam in Saint-Denis was built in 1905, making it the oldest mosque in France. Rebuilt after a fire in 1974, it has a 32-metre-high minaret, Indian-style architecture and a clean, elegant interior of white and green. It is one of Saint-Denis's landmark buildings.
