The South African Marine Rehabilitation and Education Centre is located along the coastline of the Western Cape Province and is one of South Africa most important marine rescue and education facilities. The centre is dedicated to the treatment, rehabilitation and release of injured marine animals, regularly caring for penguins, seals, sea turtles and other precious species. Through interactive exhibitions, educational lectures and on-site observation, visitors can gain deep insight into the challenges facing South African marine ecosystems and the achievements in conservation.
