Anse L'Islette
A calm, shallow bay on Mahé protected by a natural coral reef. The beach is small but its sand is fine and soft, and with gentle waves and shallow water it is wonderfully suited to families with children swimming and playing in the sand — even well offshore the water only reaches waist height. Nearby you can sample Creole food in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.

Petite Anse
A small, pristine beach on the west coast of Mahé, Seychelles, ringed by granite cliffs, with powder-fine sand and clear blue water in a clean, unspoiled setting. Although it lies within the Four Seasons Resort area, the beach remains open to the public by local law and can be reached via the hotel.

Anse Royale
One of the longest beaches on Mahé, on the island's southeastern coast. Sheltered by a coral reef, the sea here is calm, shallow and gentle, making it ideal for swimming and family play, and it is a well-loved retreat for locals. Just across the road lies a well-equipped village with restaurants, banks, a hospital and other conveniences, so visiting is easy.

Anse Intendance
A wild, atmospheric beach on the south of Mahé. With no protecting reef, the water here has big waves and strong currents and the scenery is dramatic — not really suited to ordinary swimming, yet a favourite among surfers. The renowned Banyan Tree resort lies along this coast, and this is one of the most visually striking surf vistas on the island.

Seychelles' only artificial island, located off the east coast of Mahé near the capital Victoria and connected to the main island by a causeway of about 200 m.
