No.1 Kristiansand
Kristiansand Dyrepark
Kristiansand Dyreparken lies just outside Kristiansand and is one of Norway's largest and most visited zoo-and-amusement-park combinations, opened in 1964. The park blends animal exhibits with rides: it keeps Nordic wildlife such as wolves, lynx and moose alongside family attractions including roller coasters and a small train. It also contains Kardemomme by (Cardamom Town), a walk-through story village based on the books of Norwegian author Thorbjorn Egner, popular with families. Because the site is large and spread out, allow a full day and plan a route using the park map. Operations are strongly seasonal, with most attractions open in summer, so check the current season's opening details before travelling.

No.2 Kristiansand
Christiansholm
Christiansholm Fortress (Christiansholm festning) stands on a small round islet at the entrance to Kristiansand's harbour in southern Norway, guarding the approach to the city. Work began in the 1660s and was largely completed by the early 1670s to defend against attacks from the sea. The round layout, thick stone walls and gun emplacements once housed a standing garrison. As its military role faded, the site was gradually turned over to public use, and today the ramparts, batteries and central courtyard are open to visitors and used for open-air concerts and cultural events. Walking the walls gives wide views over the harbour, quays and town centre, making it a good starting point for understanding Kristiansand's maritime past. It lies within walking distance of the centre and the seafront promenade.
