📍 Destination Overview
Postojna, on the karst plateau of southwestern Slovenia, became Europe's first tourist cave after its 1818 discovery. The cave stretches 24 kilometers, carved by the Pivka River, with an electric train through its main passage amid varied stalactites and stalagmites. The transparent blind olm is an endemic species, and a constant 8 degrees makes it Slovenia's most popular attraction.
