Malaga Travel Guide

The sunny gateway to the Costa del Sol, a Picasso birthplace, with Moorish forts and beaches, where art meets resort.

📍 Destination Overview

Málaga is the gateway to the Costa del Sol in Andalusia, with abundant sunshine and a warm climate by the Mediterranean. It is the birthplace of Picasso, and the Picasso Museum and his birth home attract art lovers. The Alcazaba fortress left by the Moors and the Gibralfaro Castle atop the hill overlook the harbor, and Málaga Cathedral is solemn and magnificent. The palm-shaded port promenade, golden beaches and fresh-fried small fish seafood flavors make it both a city of art and a resort base for Andalusian highlights such as Ronda and the Caminito del Rey.
