Ubud Travel Guide

Cultural heart of Bali — Tegalalang terraces, Monkey Forest and temples — a jungle town of faith and craft.

📍 Destination Overview

Ubud nestles among the hills of central Bali, the cultural and artistic heart of the island. The rice terraces of Tegalalang and Tegallalang cascade down the valley in layers of emerald green, the classic image of Ubud. In the Sacred Monkey Forest, macaques dart among ancient temples and banyan trees, while Ubud Palace and Tirta Empul speak of Balinese faith. This is a center for yoga, meditation and spiritual healing, as well as a hub for woodcarving, painting and silverwork. Cafes beside rice fields, jungle pool villas and rafting on the Ayung River give Ubud its serene and deeply spiritual atmosphere.
