June Lake is a high-alpine lakeside village in California's eastern Sierra, about 2,330 m up and 30 km from Mammoth Lakes. It is famed for the June Lake Loop, a 26-km ring road linking high-alpine lakes with snow-capped peaks reflected in the water. Aspen golden in October are a classic photo scene, trout-fishing appeals to anglers, and trails suit hikers, all near Yosemite's east gate.
