The Stone Forest lies in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Kunming, Yunnan, a World Natural Heritage site and Global Geopark. Its forest of sword-like pillars, formed by some 200 million years of dissolution, is best seen at the Major Stone Forest's Pavilion and the Minor's Ashima rock, with the Naigu Stone Forest and Long Lake beyond.
