Ohe'o Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools)
Oheo Gulch, located on Maui, is a canyon wonder hidden in tropical rainforest, famous for rushing streams, dense vegetation, and unique geological landscapes. The gulch was formed by long-term erosion of Oheo Stream, which flows from Maui's inland mountains, carving deep canyons and beautiful waterfalls through volcanic rock layers. This area preserves pristine Hawaiian rainforest ecology with lush vegetation, home to Hawaiian endemic birds and plants. Visitors can hike along canyon trails through bamboo groves and tropical plants, enjoying multi-tiered waterfalls and clear stream pools. Some waterfalls allow swimming, offering refreshing stream water in tropical rainforest. Oheo Gulch is a hidden gem for experiencing Maui's pristine nature and Hawaiian ecology, allowing hikers to escape tourist hotspots and deeply feel the island's authentic natural beauty.

‘Ohe'O Gulch
'Ohe'o Gulch, better known as the Seven Sacred Pools, lies in the coastal section of Haleakala National Park on eastern Maui — a chain of cascading waterfall pools where stream water tumbles from pool to pool in a green valley. The 'sacred' name is a myth, but the scenery is stunning; in high water the pools close to swimming, and a short trail to the falls' top is the main experience.

Ke'anae Peninsula
Ke'anae Peninsula is a black volcanic promontory along Maui's northeast coast on the Road to Hana, jutting into the blue Pacific. The village of Ke'anae keeps traditional ways — taro patches and the stone church (Ke'anae Congregational Church, built 1860) are the highlights, while huge black rocks on the sea cliffs take the pounding surf dramatically.

Maui Ocean Center
The Maui Ocean Center, located at Maalaea Harbor on West Maui, is known as 'The Aquarium of Hawaii.' Opened in 1998, this three-acre marine park is an excellent place to explore the Pacific Ocean ecosystem. The center's most striking feature is the massive cylindrical exhibit displaying living coral reefs and hundreds of Hawaiian reef fish species, allowing visitors 360-degree views of this vibrant underwater world. The facility also includes dedicated shark exhibits, sea turtle habitats, and marine mammal displays, offering close-up encounters with these awe-inspiring ocean creatures. Beyond indoor exhibits, the center offers naturalist-led tours, shark dive experiences, and behind-the-scenes programs. As Hawaii's premier marine education center, it showcases not only the beauty of marine life but also promotes ocean conservation awareness.

Lahaina
Lahaina, on the west coast of Maui, is one of the most historically significant seaside towns in Hawaii. It once served as the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom and was one of the busiest whaling ports in the Pacific during the 19th century. The town's Front Street runs along the ocean, lined with century-old banyan trees, historic wooden buildings, art galleries, and oceanfront restaurants, where a stroll feels like stepping back into old Hawaii. The famous banyan tree planted in 1873 in Banyan Court Park covers an entire block and is one of the largest banyan trees in the world. The August 2023 wildfires caused severe damage to the town, but the love for Lahaina from Hawaiians and visitors worldwide has not faded, and reconstruction and cultural preservation are steadily advancing. Lahaina carries the memory of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the glory of the whaling era, and the romance of island life, making it an essential stop for understanding Hawaiian culture.

Waianapanapa (Black Sand) Beach
Wai'anapanapa Black Sand Beach sits within Wai'anapanapa State Park on the eastern end of Maui, a stretch of pure black sand formed by the weathering of volcanic rock, creating a striking contrast with turquoise water and green palms. It is one of Hawaii's few true black sand beaches, the sand formed when molten lava shattered on contact with seawater and weathered to fine jet-black grains. Sea caves, a natural stone arch and the remains of an ancient Hawaiian fishing village border the beach; the caves are legendary hiding places of Chief Bakeneki. The park offers simple camping and picnic areas surrounded by dense tropical vegetation and coastal cliffs. Green sea turtles and hawksbills frequently haul out on the sand, making it a premier wildlife-watching spot in Hawaii. Far from Maui's main resorts, the beach preserves a raw volcanic shoreline and is the most worthwhile stop along the Hana Highway.
