Three Gorges Dam
The Three Gorges Dam spans the Yangtze at Sandouping, Yiling, Yichang, Hubei — the world's largest hydropower complex, filled in stages from 2003 and completed in 2012. About 2,309 m long and 185 m high, it integrates flood control, power generation and navigation, with among the highest annual outputs worldwide, reshaping the middle Yangtze's flood system.
