Genting Highlands is about 1,700 meters high, cool all year (mostly 15–22°C) and cloud-wreathed, a cool retreat from the heat below; enjoyable all year but bring a jacket. Take one of Asia's longest cable cars up for a sea-of-clouds view; the theme parks and entertainment city suit families. It is an easy day trip from Kuala Lumpur (about 1 hour's drive). The mountain is often foggy and rainy, so bring rain gear.
