📍 Destination Overview
Holloko, a Palocz folk village in northern Hungary's Cserhat Mountains, is a UNESCO site since 1982. Its semi-subterranean adobe houses reveal ingenious folk architecture, and red-and-blue Palocz embroidery and craft workshops carry tradition. Still inhabited, it has a church and castle of medieval air and celebrates a grand Easter water-splashing festival, two hours from Budapest.
