Baa Atoll Travel Guide

This is a coral atoll in north-central Maldives, a UNESCO biosphere reserve for its rich, well-preserved reefs and marine biodiversity — a paradise for divers and home to top luxury resorts, great year-round. The famous wonder is Hanifaru Bay, where every year around May–Nov (southwest monsoon, favorable tides) currents gather plankton, attracting hundreds of giant manta rays and gentle whale sharks — a stunning marine feast (strictly limited and regulated, usually snorkel-only).
