📍 Destination Overview
Kolsai Lakes are three glacial lakes in Kazakhstan's Kungey Alatau, 250km from Almaty. The Lower Lake (1,800m) is deep blue, 80m deep, ringed by Tien Shan pines; the Middle Lake (2,250m) and Upper Lake near the glacier are more remote. Offering boating, hiking and riding, with basalt-columned Kolsai Gorge nearby, they are among Kazakhstan's loveliest lake groups.
