The Blue Mountains are best in the dry season (December–April) for summits and views; the wet season is lush but slippery. Climbing the Peak needs a local guide and warm gear, starting before dawn to catch sunrise from Jamaica's rooftop; if you'd rather not hike hard, simply settle into an estate such as Craighton and sip. Reachable in about 1.5 hours from Kingston, 1–2 days is enough. This is Jamaica's quiet, cool, aromatic side — a lovely counterpoint to the warm, beach-side island.
