Tasiilaq Travel Guide

An isolated town on Greenland's east coast, amid fjords and snow peaks, famed for summer wildflower valleys and Inuit culture.

📍 Destination Overview

Tasiilaq, also Ammassalik, is an isolated Greenland town of some 2,000 on the east coast, reachable only by helicopter or dogsled and famed for pure East Inuit culture. Summer valleys bloom into the Flower Valley for tundra hiking; the islanders are noted for wood carving and mask-making. Polar winter brings northern lights and dogsled travel, a rare Arctic experience.
