Srimangal Travel Guide

See terraced hills, drifting mist and rainforest teeming with life in Bangladesh's tea capital.

📍 Destination Overview

Srimangal is a small town in Moulvibazar district, Sylhet division in Bangladesh, widely hailed as the nation's tea capital with the most concentrated and oldest tea estates, earning the nickname the land of two leaves and a bud. Rolling terraced tea bushes stretch over the hills amid pineapple, rubber and lemon plantations, the air carrying the scent of freshly picked leaves. The area is ringed by lowland rainforest such as Lawachara National Park, home to the hoolock gibbon, and is woven with indigenous tribal communities - a slow-paced destination for tea gardens, rainforest and culture.
