Introduction
Cavallo Point is located at the Marin Headlands north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, a unique destination blending historic military architecture with modern luxury resort experience. The lodge was converted from the former Fort Baker military post, which guarded San Francisco Bay for over half a century since the early 1900s. In 2008, the fort was carefully converted into an eco-friendly resort, preserving the thick stone walls and arched structure while injecting modern elegance. The lodge backs onto the green Marin Headlands hills with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay, making it an ideal sunset viewing spot. As part of Gateway National Recreation Area, the lodge offers hiking trails to black-sand beaches, coastal bluffs, and military ruins.
