Introduction
St. Paul's Chapel, located in lower Manhattan, New York, is part of New York University's campus and belongs to the Parish of Trinity Church. Built in the late 18th century, it is one of the oldest continuously used church buildings in New York City. Designed by Thomas McComb, the chapel features Georgian style with a simple classical facade and interior wooden vault. St. Paul's Chapel miraculously survived the September 11, 2001 attacks, becoming a place of rest and solace for World Trade Center rescue workers, giving it special historical significance. The interior houses the remains of numerous historical figures including George Washington, making it an important place to understand New York's early history and the 9/11 attacks.
