Introduction

Lake Havasu is a large reservoir on the Colorado River in western Arizona, formed by Parker Dam and stretching about 45 miles long. With its long shoreline and warm climate, it is a renowned aquatic playground in the Southwest desert. The city of Lake Havasu City on its shore is famous for London Bridge, which was dismantled in England, shipped stone by stone and reassembled over the lake in 1971. Visitors come for boating, fishing, water-skiing, kayaking and beach lounging, with spring wildflowers framing the blue water, making it an ideal escape from the desert heat.
