Terrapin Point
Introduction
Terrapin Point, located within Niagara Falls State Park on the American side, is one of the most thrilling close-up viewing platforms for Horseshoe Falls. The platform sits atop the open-air top level of the Observation Tower, directly facing the turtle-back rock of Horseshoe Falls, just meters away, where visitors can feel the torrential power and mist of the cascading water. From the platform, the entire curved curtain of Horseshoe Falls is in full view, with deafening roar and mist often refracting into rainbows in sunlight, one of the best positions for the most impactful Niagara Falls photos. The platform is accessed through the Observation Tower, which has exhibits and elevators. Whether by day or during the evening illumination, Terrapin Point offers distinctly different yet equally unforgettable waterfall experiences.
