Introduction
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, located on Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida, is the city's most famous historic landmark, built between 1910 and 1916 by James Deering, vice president of International Harvester Company. This Italian Renaissance-style waterfront villa was inspired by estates in the Italian lake district, blending Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical elements. The villa houses European decorative arts, furniture, sculptures, and paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, including exquisite tapestries, porcelain, and marble statues.
