Charging Bull

Introduction
The Charging Bull is the most iconic bronze sculpture of Wall Street in New York, created by Italian Sicilian artist Arturo Di Modica and secretly placed in front of the New York Stock Exchange on Christmas Eve 1989 as an artistic tribute to American economic resilience after the 1987 stock market crash. The 3.2-ton, 4.9-meter muscular bull lowers its head in charging posture, symbolizing a bull market and economic strength. Though initially removed by the city, public protest led to its permanent installation in Bowling Green Park. The Charging Bull has become the visual shorthand for global finance and Wall Street, with countless visitors rubbing its horns and nose for investment luck, those spots now polished bright. It now faces the later Fearless Girl statue, creating New York's most dramatic public art scene.
