Introduction
Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) is Los Angeles' most famous sports and entertainment venue. Seating about 20,000, it is home to the NBA's Lakers and Clippers, the NHL's Kings and the WNBA's Sparks, and one of America's most important venues for sports, concerts and major events — the core landmark of LA's sports and entertainment culture. Opened in 1999 in downtown LA's LA Live entertainment complex (dining, entertainment, hotels and venues), as the home of the Lakers — one of the NBA's most storied franchises — it has hosted countless classic games and championship celebrations, with retired jerseys of legends like Kobe Bryant hanging inside.
