Introduction
Perched on the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge, the Museum of Science was founded in 1830 and ranks among America's oldest natural science and technology museums, as well as New England's most visited family attraction. More than 700 interactive exhibits span physics, astronomy, biology, engineering and artificial intelligence. The Charles Hayden Planetarium features a 12-meter dome screening frontier science films, while the Mugar Omni Theater offers New England's only domed IMAX experience. Permanent displays include reconstructed dinosaur skeletons, flown spacecraft hardware and New England marine life models, plus a discovery center for young children, making it a cross-generational playground for curiosity.
