Introduction

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, founded in 1913, is the largest natural history museum in the western United States, with over 35 million specimens and artifacts spanning paleontology, minerals, anthropology, Los Angeles history, and marine biology. Its most iconic feature is one of the world's largest dinosaur fossil collections; Dinosaur Hall displays complete skeletons of juvenile and adult T. rex, Triceratops, and Allosaurus at awe-inspiring scale. The Becoming Los Angeles exhibit traces the city's evolution from the indigenous Tongva people to a modern metropolis. Nature Gardens and Nature Lab showcase Southern California's native biodiversity.
