Introduction

Hollywood Reservoir, nestled among the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, was built in 1924 and serves as one of the city important drinking water sources, as well as one of the best hidden spots for viewing the Hollywood Sign. Surrounded by mountains with mirror-like waters, the reservoir features a paved loop trail approximately 3.4 miles long, beloved by local residents for morning jogs, dog walking, and leisurely strolls. From the northern trail, visitors can look up to see the iconic white Hollywood letters standing on the ridge above, offering a more unique and clearer perspective than Griffith Observatory. The surrounding vegetation is lush, with occasional deer and coyote sightings. When morning mist shrouds the water surface, the atmosphere is particularly enchanting, making this a natural oasis away from Los Angeles urban bustle.
