Introduction
Corona Heights Park crowns a steep rocky hill above San Francisco's Castro district; its exposed red chert outcrop gives the city hill a wild feel. A short, steep trail from Roosevelt Way reaches a small summit clearing with unobstructed 360-degree views over the downtown skyline, the Bay Bridge, Twin Peaks and Marin. The grassy slopes bloom each spring with California poppies, checkerbloom and more, and host native pollinators. At the base stands the beloved Randall Museum, run by SF Recreation & Parks.
