Introduction

A Federal-style brick mansion at 141 Cambridge Street in Boston's West End, designed by architect Charles Bulfinch and built in 1795-96 for politician and developer Harrison Gray Otis, later Boston's third mayor, as the first of three houses Bulfinch created for him. Now a National Historic Landmark managed by Historic New England, it showcases elegant Federal proportions and refined interiors, beside Beacon Hill and the Old West Church.
