Introduction

Turku Market Square sits in the city center, the busiest, most central square. In warm seasons, open-air stalls sell fresh produce, berries (Finland abounds in tasty wild berries), flowers and local snacks—lively and full of life. Beside it stands the historic indoor Market Hall (Turku Market Hall / Kauppahalli, built in the late 19th century) with stalls of fish, meat, cheese, bread, pastries, coffee and Finnish foods—aromatic and tempting; taste local fare here.
