Introduction
Kadoya is the first house restored for Naoshima's Art House Project, set in the Honmura district. Inside, Tatsuo Miyajima's 'Sea of Time '98' fills a darkened pool with red LED numerals that count, flicker and reset — viewed from a wooden walkway circling the water as if watching time loop and fade. The old timber frame and garden are kept intact, letting past and present speak quietly to each other.
