Introduction

The Hara Model Railway Museum on the 2nd floor of the Yokohama Mitsui Building at Takashima, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, opened in 2012 around the collection of model-railway maker and collector Nobutaro Hara. Its No.1-gauge (about 1/32) giant diorama 'Ichiban Tetsumo Park' runs some 450 metres of track, faithfully reproducing vehicles and townscapes from Japan and abroad — even hidden details such as gears and leaf springs follow real railway engineering.
