Introduction

Sapporo Dome (now Daiwa House PREMIST Dome), opened in 2001, is Japan's first dome with a sliding pitch that switches between football and baseball, and served as a venue for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Its 53-metre observatory is the only dome observatory in Japan, and the dome tour opens the players' locker rooms and bullpens to visitors.
