Introduction
The Last Supper is Leonardo da Vinci's immortal mural masterpiece. Painted on a convent wall, depicting Jesus and the disciples at the last supper, it is a treasure of human art and a precious, stunning sight in Milan. The Last Supper is the masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci and one of the most famous, greatest paintings in art history. This huge mural is painted on the wall of the refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. It depicts the Biblical moment when Jesus, at the last supper with the twelve disciples, says one of you will betray me: with supreme artistry, Leonardo vividly captures the disciples' varied, astonished, angry, doubtful or defensive reactions in that instant, rigorously composed, lifelike and dramatically tense, an immortal work. Because Leonardo used a special (but not very durable) technique, and after centuries of erosion, the precious mural was once severely damaged, later restored and preserved, now especially precious and fragile. To protect it, visits are strictly limited: must reserve long ahead, and each group can only stay about fifteen minutes in the climate-controlled room. Visiting Milan and admiring Leonardo's immortal Last Supper is a precious, stunning sight.
