Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

Introduction
The Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou lies on the main route from Marrakech to the Sahara and is the best-preserved ksar (fortified village) in Morocco, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Built from six connected earthen kasbahs (rammed earth and mud brick), this red-brown fortress climbs tier upon tier up the hillside above the Oued Ounila (Unila river). It is widely known as a filming location for Hollywood epics such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
