Introduction
The Nejjarine Fountain is one of Fes Medina's finest historic fountains. On Place Nejjarine, this 18th-century fountain features exquisite zellige mosaics, cedar woodcarving and stucco — a jewel of Moroccan decorative arts. An elegant Moroccan-style niche fountain with blue-and-white zellige tiles, carved cedar eaves and stucco relief. Opposite is the beautifully restored Fondouk Nejjarine (18th-century caravanserai), now the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. The plaza is a tranquil corner of the Medina. Visiting to admire the craftsmanship of Moroccan decorative arts is a refined Fes Medina experience.
