Introduction

Free State National Botanical Garden is one of South Africa nine national botanical gardens, covering about 130 hectares in the hilly area of northwest Bloemfontein. The garden collects rich native plants of the Free State region, particularly characteristic plant communities of arid and semi-arid areas. The garden is divided into multiple themed areas, including a native arboretum, medicinal plant garden, succulent area and wetland ecological zone.
