Sentech Tower
Introduction
The Sentech Tower is another important telecommunications transmission tower in Johannesburg. Built in 1962 and standing 234 meters tall, it is one of South Africa's earliest concrete television towers. The tower features an elegant design with an observation deck and revolving restaurant at the top that was once open to the public, offering 360-degree panoramic views of Johannesburg. Due to safety considerations, the tower is currently closed to the public, but its graceful trumpet-shaped silhouette has become an important part of Johannesburg's northwestern skyline. The Sentech Tower and Hillbrow Tower echo each other from afar, together forming Johannesburg's twin-tower landmark landscape, clearly visible when driving along the M1 highway, making it a favorite subject for architecture enthusiasts and city photographers.
