Introduction

The Grand Canyon is one of the world's most spectacular natural wonders and America's most iconic national park. The Colorado River carved this ~446 km long, ~29 km wide, ~1,600 m deep canyon over millions of years — with incredible scale, colorful rock layers and breathtaking scenery (UNESCO World Heritage). The South Rim (open year-round) has multiple viewpoints (Mather Point, Yavapai Point) overlooking canyon panoramas — 1,600 m deep with red, orange, yellow and purple rock layers. The North Rim (higher, less crowded, open ~May-Oct) offers a different perspective. Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail hike to the canyon floor (Colorado River). Mule rides are also available. Visiting for Earth's most spectacular canyon is a life-changing American experience.
