Introduction
Roadside America was an indoor miniature village in Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, beside Interstate 78. Created in 1935 by Laurence Gieringer and first displayed in nearby Hamburg, it grew into an 8,000-square-foot hand-built landscape of churches, towns, farms and railroads, celebrated as the world's greatest indoor miniature village. It closed permanently in November 2020 after 85 years.
