Carmel-by-the-Sea, located near Pebble Beach, California, USA, is a charming coastal town brimming with artistic flair and fairy-tale ambiance. Founded in the early 20th century, it is renowned for its unique European-style architecture, winding cobblestone streets, and stunning beaches. Once a haven for artists, writers, and poets—including the famed poet Robinson Jeffers—the town has no high-rises or neon lights; every cottage is uniquely designed and surrounded by flowers. Visitors can stroll along Carmel Beach, watch the spectacular Pacific sunset, explore the historic Carmel Mission, and browse numerous galleries and boutiques. Whether for a romantic afternoon walk or savoring local cuisine, Carmel offers tranquility and beauty away from the hustle and bustle.
The town itself is an open area accessible 24/7; however, shops, restaurants, and museums have their own hours, typically 10:00-17:00.
No unified ticket; self-guided visit.
