Cataratas del Iguazú
No.1 Puerto Iguazú
Cataratas del Iguazú
Iguazu National Park in Argentina's Misiones province, together with the Brazilian side, protects the Iguazu Falls — a natural World Heritage Site since 1984, where some 275 drops plunge through subtropical rainforest and the Devil's Throat roars into an 80-metre chasm in a U-shaped curtain. Argentina is the 'inside the falls' side: the Upper Circuit walks along the cataract tops, the Lower Circuit drops into the spray below, a 1.1 km catwalk crosses the river to the Throat viewpoint, and the ecological train links the stations. Coatis, capuchin monkeys and toucans move through more than 2,000 plant species. Note: the Devil's Throat catwalk has been closed since August 2026 due to flood damage; the Upper and Lower circuits remain open — check official notices for reopening.

Garganta del Diablo
No.2 Puerto Iguazú
Garganta del Diablo
The Devil's Throat is the most overwhelming scene of the Iguazú falls, deep inside Argentina's national park. Dozens of streams converge into a semicircular wall of water plunging some 80 metres into the gorge, mist erupting skyward as thunder fills the air; standing at the end of the walkway that reaches into the cataract's heart, you feel embraced by the giant fall. The soul of Iguazú, it is reached by eco-train then a boardwalk, a must for photographers and anyone seeking nature's raw power. After rain, double rainbows often appear, and morning mist refracts a dreamy glow in the sun.

Bio Centro Iguazu
No.3 Puerto Iguazú
Bio Centro Iguazu
The Bio Centro Iguazú is a small wildlife rescue and display centre in Puerto Iguazú, caring for rescued local birds, reptiles and mammals with an educational mission. For families wanting an easy, close encounter with tropical animals, it is a light option beyond the falls.

Hito de Las Tres Fronteras
No.4 Puerto Iguazú
Hito de Las Tres Fronteras
The Hito de Las Tres Fronteras sits in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, at the confluence of the Paraná and Iguazú rivers where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet. Border markers and giant flagpoles line the bank, and after dark three national colours light the water while Brazilian and Paraguayan towns twinkle across the river. A rare spot in South America to 'stand in three countries at a glance', it is a light, geography-flavoured and sunset-romantic stop on any Iguazú trip. Riverside food stalls let you taste Argentine asado, Brazilian fare and Paraguayan snacks in one stop.

Jardín de los Picaflores
No.5 Puerto Iguazú
Jardín de los Picaflores
The Hummingbird Garden in Monteverde is a small but delightful, visitor-loved nature spot—a perfect place to see up close these beautiful, magical "air sprites," the hummingbirds. Hummingbirds are the Americas' tiny, smallest birds, with iridescent, jewel-like plumage in sunlight (emerald, sapphire, magenta) and wings beating dozens of times per second, letting them hover and fly backward; they sip nectar with slender beaks—nature's exquisite masterpiece. Monteverde's cloud forest region is rich in hummingbird species. At the garden (usually near the cloud forest reserve entrance, or by a café or souvenir shop), red feeders filled with sugar water attract flocks of varied wild hummingbirds that hover, chase and feed right before visitors' eyes, letting you observe and photograph these elusive sprites up close. A close-up view of colorful hummingbirds is an easy, wonderful, all-ages nature experience in Monteverde.
