No.1 Sofia
Vitosha
Vitosha is a towering, beautiful mountain right by Sofia's outskirts, the citizens' back garden for nature, hiking and winter skiing. With lush forests, open meadows and strange rocks (the famous "Stone River"), and a summit view over all of Sofia, it offers different charms each season. Its main peak exceeds 2,000 m and lies close to Sofia with easy access, a natural barrier and leisure spot. The scenery is rich: low forests, then open alpine meadows and rugged boulders, notably the "Stone River" (a unique landform of huge round rocks); streams, waterfalls and trails also exist. In warm seasons it is a spot for hiking, climbing, picnics and nature, with the whole city in view from above; in winter, its snow field is a handy ski resort. Reach the top by cable car or hike. Getting close to Vitosha, you enjoy fine alpine nature and Sofia's harmonious life with nature. Approach with a loving heart; hike within your limits, in groups, mind trail and weather, bring clothes and water; follow cable car instructions; protect nature, leave no litter; civilized visit.

Banya Bashi Mosque
Banya Bashi Mosque is an ancient 16th-century Ottoman mosque in Sofia. With its elegant dome and tall minaret, it is a vivid witness to Sofia's blend of religions and history, and one of Bulgaria's historic mosques still in use. Built during Ottoman rule, reportedly designed by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, it is a precious remnant of Ottoman architecture in Bulgaria. Built of brick and stone, it has a large dome and a slender minaret, elegant and solemn. Its name "Banya Bashi" means "many baths", from being built atop former hot-spring baths. Notably, around this mosque in central Sofia, an Orthodox church, a mosque, a synagogue and a Catholic church stand side by side, hailed as the "Square of Tolerance", vividly reflecting Sofia's tradition of religious coexistence. As a working religious site, visit with respect for Muslims. Respect etiquette: dress modestly (women bring a headscarf, no exposure), remove shoes inside, keep quiet, avoid services, don't disturb worshippers, don't walk through prayer crowds; ask before photographing, follow rules; dignified, civilized visit.
