Borjomi Travel Guide

Borjomi, Georgia's spa town, is famed for natural mineral water, warm springs and cable-car views over green forests.

📍 Destination Overview

Borjomi is a famed spa town in the deep, forested gorge of central Georgia along the Kura River, a mineral-water retreat since the 19th century. The treasured Borjomi mineral water bubbles from this valley; the Central Park pavilion lets you taste its warm salty flavour, and a cable car lifts you over the forests. Healing water and green woods make it an all-season wellness retreat.

Borjomi is a hot-spring spa mountain town ringed by forests in the deep mountain gorges of central Georgia, pleasant in all seasons and especially cool for summer escapes (May-Sep); in winter you can ski at nearby Bakuriani. It is famous for the national-treasure Borjomi natural mineral water — at the Central Park spring pavilion you can drink the warm, distinctively salty mineral water straight from the underground source; the park extends along the gorge, where you can ride the cable car over the forest and follow trails to the open-air forest hot-spring pools at the end. The town scatters Russian-era spa villas and you can hike deep into the national park. Mountains are cool, so bring a jacket.
