Museo de Cuenca (Arqueológico)
Set in a historic building on the edge of Cuenca's old town, right beside the famous Hanging Houses, the Archaeological Museum covers the region's past from prehistory through the Middle Ages. Roman mosaics, Celtiberian objects and pottery from the Islamic period piece together thousands of years of the clifftop city's story along a compact but clearly structured route, helped by multimedia displays. An hour is enough, and the moment you step outside you are at the Hanging Houses and San Pablo bridge. It is an ideal rainy-day stop and the best way to understand Cuenca in depth.
