Naryn sits in southeastern Kyrgyzstan on the banks of the Naryn River, backed by the vast Tien Shan range and serving as the gateway to the high nomadic plateaus and Silk Road landmarks of the region. At around 2,000m elevation it is all about authentic Central Asian nomad life - yurt camps, eagle-hunting traditions and mountain scenery. The lively central bazaar, a regional history museum and the famous Tash Rabat caravanserai lie within easy reach.
