Lockport
Lockport is a canal town in Niagara County, New York, about 30 minutes north of Niagara Falls, famous for the five-step locks of the Erie Canal. Founded in the 1820s as a key node on the western Erie Canal, the five locks lift boats 18 meters within just 1.6 kilometers, a 19th-century American engineering marvel. Today visitors stroll the canal towpath watching boats climb the staircase of water, experiencing the engineering spectacle firsthand. The town preserves many red-brick canal-era buildings and stone bridges, with antique shops, independent cafes, and a canal museum lining Main Street in a quiet nostalgic atmosphere. Each summer the Lockport Lights Festival illuminates the locks and canal, the most popular local event. It is an ideal half-day trip from Niagara Falls that reveals how the Erie Canal shaped the development of the American West.

Aquarium of Niagara
The Aquarium of Niagara is located in Niagara Falls, New York, just minutes from the famous falls, and serves as a key marine education facility in western New York. It houses over 1,500 aquatic animals, including sharks, penguins, seals, jellyfish, and reef fish. The most popular attractions are the daily seal demonstrations and penguin feeding sessions that bring visitors close to marine mammals. A touch tank lets children handle horseshoe crabs and rays, blending education with fun. The aquarium actively participates in endangered species conservation and public education programs, making it a must-visit indoor attraction for families visiting Niagara Falls, especially on rainy or winter days.

The Robert Moses Niagara Hydroelectric Power Station, one of North America's largest hydro plants, stands on the Niagara River below Niagara Falls, New York; it began operating in 1961 with about 2.5 GW of capacity. Water is diverted from above the falls through a canal to the turbines, and a visitor center shows generator models and the science of Niagara hydropower.

Goat Island (Niagara Falls)
Goat Island is located in Niagara Falls, New York, an important viewing spot on the American side of Niagara Falls, situated in the rushing waters between the American Falls and Horseshoe Falls. The small island is connected to the mainland by a pedestrian bridge, allowing visitors to experience the falls' immense power up close. The island features observation decks and walking paths with panoramic views of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, as well as the rushing waters of the American and Bridal Veil Falls. Luna Island and the Three Sisters Islands on the site are also famous viewing points. Goat Island is one of the best spots to experience the American side of Niagara Falls, and visitors can take the Maid of the Mist boat tour from nearby to venture into the falls' mist and feel the spray up close.

No.6
Terrapin Point
Terrapin Point, located within Niagara Falls State Park on the American side, is one of the most thrilling close-up viewing platforms for Horseshoe Falls. The platform sits atop the open-air top level of the Observation Tower, directly facing the turtle-back rock of Horseshoe Falls, just meters away, where visitors can feel the torrential power and mist of the cascading water. From the platform, the entire curved curtain of Horseshoe Falls is in full view, with deafening roar and mist often refracting into rainbows in sunlight, one of the best positions for the most impactful Niagara Falls photos. The platform is accessed through the Observation Tower, which has exhibits and elevators. Whether by day or during the evening illumination, Terrapin Point offers distinctly different yet equally unforgettable waterfall experiences.
