Los Glaciares National Park is one of Argentina's largest national parks, a World Natural Heritage Site since 1981, set in the southern Andes, containing the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the nearly fifty glaciers it feeds—the world's third-largest ice mass after Antarctica and Greenland. The park's south zone is famous for easy access and close views of the calving Perito Moreno Glacier; the north zone is the trekking mecca of El Chaltén and Mount Fitz Roy. Ice fields, snow peaks, glacial lakes and Patagonian forest intertwine here—whether viewing glaciers up close or hiking freely, it is the heart of Patagonian nature adventure.

Rogers Pass is the key col where the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Trans-Canada Highway cross the Selkirk Mountains at about 1,330 m, within Glacier National Park. It is a shrine of Rockies railway history and avalanche science: the railway was pushed through here in the late 1800s, and today the area preserves ancient cedar forest, glaciers and alpine meadows. The visitor centre details avalanche research and railway heritage, and trails lead to icefields and viewpoints.
