🎯 Juneau Experiences
See Mendenhall
Gaze at the blue glacier & falls.
Whale cruise
Watch humpbacks breach off the boat.
Heli-glacier landing
Stand on the ancient icefield.
Hike Mt. Roberts
Summit for city-glacier views.
Juneau is best in summer (May–September), when the cruise season peaks, the weather is mildest, and whale-watching and heli-glacier trips are in full swing. It's cool and rainy — pack waterproof layers year-round. Getting around between downtown, the Mendenhall Glacier and airport is usually by car; the old town is walkable. Book whale tours and helicopter excursions early, as they fill up and depend on the weather; winter (November–March) is cold and snowy but offers auroras and skiing.
